Lionel Messi was born on June 24, 1987 in Rosario, Argentina. He started playing football at the age of 8 with Newell's Old Boys in Rosario. He was eventually stopped playing football by doctor as he was suffering from a hormone that restricted his growth, his parents coudn't afford to pay for it because medication wasn't cheap for them. Messi was given a chance to play for Barcelona with his medical bills covered by the team at the age of 13, his family decided to move across the Atlantic to make a new home in Spain.
Lionel Messi made his debut in a friendly match with Porto in the 2003-2004 season at the age of 16. Messi played for first in an official match on October 16, 2004 against Espanyol at the Olympic Stadium by winning with (0-1). He also became the youngest player ever to score a league goal for FC Barcelona against Albacete at the age of 17. Messi got his first chance to play for Spain National Football team against Paraguay in a friendly match in June 2004. He is No 1 player now in the whole world, simply he is a superb football player.
